William H. Taylor, 78, of Dillsburg, PA passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, August 13, 2015 in the Holy Spirit Hospital. Born February 4, 1937 in Gettysburg, PA to the late Ivan Cletus and Margaret Helen Culp Taylor, he worked for the former Pizeo Crystal Co., now Vectron, and retired with 20 plus years of service. Bill was a member of the Chestnut Grove Lutheran Church, York Springs and belonged to the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Arie # 1299. A music lover and pianist, he was a former member of the Larks band and played piano at many nursing homes in the area. Bill loved to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers and was a US Navy veteran.
William is survived by his wife of 43 years, Connie L. Duprey Taylor; his daughter, Briana Taylor of Mechanicsburg; his son, Brian (Hilary) Taylor of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Meghan, Emily and Madelyn Turner, and Garett Taylor; and great granddaughter, Olivia Poet. Also surviving are his siblings, Kenton (Sandra) Taylor of York Springs, Philip (Katie) Taylor of Maryland and Helen Taylor of Liverpool. He was predeceased by his brother and sister, Terry Taylor and Charlotte Zeigler.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, August 22, 2015 in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with Rev. Richard M. Olson officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 AM until noon. Memorial contributions may be made to his church, 1136 Mountain Rd., York Springs, PA 17372.
