William Lackey

William H. Lackey, 69, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away peacefully with his wife and son by his side Thursday, January 26, 2017 in the West Shore Hospital.  Born April 8, 1947 in Clarksburg, WV to the late Hubert and Betty J. Beverlin Lackey, he is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joyce A. Vanaman Lackey and his son, Michael D. Lackey.

Bill graduated from the West Virginia University in 1970 and was employed at Shaffer Trucking Co. An active member of the Mechanicsburg Presbyterian Church, he served in many capacities on several committees over the years.  Bill volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a member of the West Virginia Alumni Assoc. An avid Phillies fan, he also enjoyed watching the West Virginia Mountaineers.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM, in the Mechanicsburg Presbyterian Church, 300 E. Simpson St., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 with Rev. Kathryn Johnston officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in the Mechanicsburg Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM in his church prior to the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to his church or to Abramson Cancer Center/Trustees of the University of Penn , 3535 Market St., Suite 750, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
