William “Bill” Frank DeVos, 81, of Gardners, passed away at home on July 12, 2023. He was born November 10, 1941, to the late William and Sophie (Szypulska) DeVos.
Bill proudly served our country in the US Navy. He was stationed at the Naval Air Base in Jacksonville Florida as part of the photo recon group during the Cuban crisis. He graduated from Shelton College in Cape May, NJ with a bachelor’s degree in Art. He retired from the New Cumberland Army Depot after 35 years of service as a forklift operator. He was a member of Covenant Bible in Cape May Courthouse NJ and attended The Carlisle Reformed Presbyterian Church. Bill and his wife would enjoy singing at Covenant Bible Church. Bill was a wonderful chef and great florist who loved to supply flower arrangements for his church.
Surviving is his loving wife of 52 years, Sandra DeVos of Gardners; children, Sharon DeVos of Carlisle, and Mark DeVos of Gardners; grandchildren, Isaiah, and Rashon Shrawder; and siblings, Ken DeVos of Arizona, and Sandy Huber of New York. Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Sarah DeVos; and sister, Catherine Agans.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at 9:00 AM in the Sunnyside Cemetery, 178 Sunnyside Cemetery Rd York Springs, PA 17372 with Pastor Matt Purdy officiating.
