Wilbert Diehl

d. September 6, 2014

Once upon a time Wilbert Leroy Augustus Diehl was born in York PA January 22nd 1931. He was the youngest of four sons born to Wilbert and Florence Snyder Diehl. His family moved to Cumberland County when he was five. He decided to stay for the rest of his life because he firmly believed there was no place on earth more beautiful than Cumberland County.

He began working at his Father's feed mill as a youth and graduated into farming with his Father-in-law as a young man. His love of the land and vision for what could be, informed his career path. He was a Realtor and Developer in Carlisle for 50 years. At the time of his death, he was the primary owner of Ebener & Associates, REALTORS.

He valued life, above all family, and did not waiver from his course of generosity, gratitude, and basic kindness. One of his most enduring beliefs was that everyone deserved to be heard. He truly listened to customers and tirelessly worked to connect people with their dream homes. He valued his employees and worked just as tirelessly to ensure their financial success. He walked the line of his beliefs, placing one foot in front of the other, no matter what...

He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 61 years, Shryle McCoy Diehl, two daughters Robin L. Diehl and partner (Nikki Toler) of Carlisle and Kathy (Kate) L. Diehl of Atlanta, four grandchildren Tracy, Sara, Ross, Isaiah, and a great grandson, Ari.

There will be a private graveside service in Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery with Reverend Richard Reese officiating. There will also be a Celebration of his life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, just keep on giving in the Spirit of Love as you feel lead to do.

Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA . On line condolences to the family may be made at www.hollingerfuneralhome.com
