Victor Norris

Mr. Victor E. Norris, 97, of Mechanicsburg, Pa, passed away October 19, 2021, in Holy Spirit Hospital. He was born August 29, 1924, in Farmington, WV, to the late William T. and Ollie (Twyman) Norris.  He moved to Winter Haven, FL from Mechanicsburg in 1979 and then returned to Mechanicsburg in 2005 following the death of his wife.  He was graduated from Farmington High School, Fairmont Business College, and West Virginia Wesleyan College with a degree in business administration.

Victor was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific and retired from Federal Civil Service, US Navy Ships Parts Control Center, Mechanicsburg, PA as a Supervisory Budget Analyst. He was a member of NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees) where he served as Treasurer and Service Officer. Victor was a Christian and a member of First United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg, PA.

Mr. Norris is survived by his daughter, Vicki K. Marsh; his son, Steven A. Norris and wife, Glenda I. Norris; his grandchildren, Courtney L. (Farner) Vorwald and her husband Andrew, of Mechanicsburg, PA; and Jenna I. (Norris) Bell and her husband Steve, of New Cumberland, PA; one great-grandson, Harris M. Vorwald, and three great-granddaughters, Ruby K. Vorwald, Lola Mae Vorwald and Mara J. Bell.

He was preceded in death by his one brother, W. Twyman Norris, Reno, NV; one sister, Milbah C. Walls, Morgantown, WV; two grandsons, Jason S. Norris, and Nathan A. Norris, both of Mechanicsburg, PA; and the love of his life, his wife, (Ruby) Arlene (Loughry) Norris.

A celebration of life will be announced by the family. His body has been cremated as he requested and interment will be in a columbarium at Arlington National Cemetery, alongside his wife’s.
