Travis W. Eichelberger, 42, of Newville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, in the Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia, after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born December 3, 1980, in Carlisle to the late Michael and LaNita (Nickel) Eichelberger.
Travis was a Big Spring High School graduate of the Class of 1999. He graduated from Shippensburg University with a bachelor’s degree in English and master’s degree in College Student Personnel, along with a Counseling certificate. He had a heart for helping others. Travis enjoyed gardening, surrounding his home with plants and garden boxes, cooking and baking, preserving food, hiking, the arts, playing video games, spending time with his friends, family, and his cats; Freya and Dwen were also pastimes. He loved attending the Renaissance Fair, drinking Coca Cola, the beach, and all things buffalo plaid. Travis was a force with which to be reckoned, the life of every gathering, and a collector of a little bit of everything, including Rae Dunn.
Surviving is his sister, Kelsey Gordon of Newburg, who he loved being with; nieces and nephews, Landon, Elle, Pieper, and Maverik Gordon, who he loved spoiling; his close friends, Hope and Kevin Snow of King of Prussia, and their son, Marty. In addition to his parents, Travis was preceded in death by his brother, Miles Eichelberger and his maternal grandparents, William N. and Lavita E. (Massey) Nickel.
