Timothy “Tim” Mitzel, 74 of Gardners, PA passed away on Monday, April 21 at UMPC Carlisle.
Tim passed away peacefully, just 30 days after the loss of his beloved wife, Anna — a heartbreak that spoke volumes about the strength of their love. Their life together was rich with laughter, deep connection, and a quiet devotion that never needed words.
Known for his sharp wit, generous spirit, and deep love for the outdoors, Tim brought joy and warmth wherever he went. He had a gift for making people feel seen, heard, and loved — usually while delivering a one-liner that left everyone in stitches.
Hunting and fishing weren’t just pastimes for Tim — they were his passion and peace. The woods and water were his sanctuary, where he found meaning in the stillness and the stories carried on the breeze.
He also loved the thrill of auctions — not just the treasures he found, but the people he met and the stories behind every item. He had a heart for giving, a mind full of memories, and a soul always open to connection.
Tim leaves behind many who loved him dearly — surviving are Sally McClintock (the neighbor; however, Tim would introduce her as the “daughter he never had”, and her significant other Barry Failor, whose bond with him was as real and lasting as family.
Now reunited with his Anna, Tim rests peacefully, his legacy alive in every sunrise over a still lake, every well-told story, and every laugh shared in his memory.
