Thomas J. White, 87, and his wife, Ruby G. Bradshaw White, 86, of Gardners, PA, both passed away this week at the Harrisburg Hospital. Thomas died Wednesday, February 19, and Ruby died Friday, February 21, 2014. They celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Thomas was born on August 8, 1926 in Dupo, IL to the late John B. & Winnie May Fatridge White. He was a retired auto mechanic and a Navy WWII veteran. A Charter Member of the Apostolic Faith Church Mechanicsburg, Thomas was an Honorary Board member, a church elder and a former youth leader.
Ruby was born May 20, 1927 in St. Louis, IL to the late Charles Lewis & Grace Ruth Norbury Bradshaw. She worked at the Carlisle Hospital as a sterilization technician for the operating room. Active in the Apostolic Faith Church, she taught Sunday school and was thoughtful of others through her greeting card ministry.
Surviving are their four children: Thomas Bruce (Wendy) White of Dauphin, PA, Carol Shipman (Billy) Cipolla of Burnsville, PA, and Ruthann White (Herman) LaBlanc of Maine, Judy L. (Eugene) Barrick of Carlisle, PA.
Thomas is survived by his sister, Violet Lorraine White Karson of Colorado; he was predeceased by eight siblings.
Ruby’s surviving relatives include: Charles Eugene Bradshaw, Audrey Gene Bradshaw Feigl, Bill Walter Bradshaw, Howard Samuel Bradshaw all of Illinois, and Daryl Leonard Bradshaw of Missouri. She was predeceased by five siblings.
They have eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
A combined Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Apostolic Faith Church, 500 S. High St., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 with the Rev. William Sechrist and Rev. Kenneth Kramer, officiating. There will be a viewing from 9:30 until 11:00 AM. Interment will be in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens with military honors presented by the Cumberland County Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to their church. Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave. Mt. Holly Springs, PA.
