Thomas B. McGowan

Thomas B. McGowan, 89, of Carlisle, PA, passed away Friday, January 3, 2025, at Carlisle Hospital with family by his side. He was born February 8, 1935, to the late Emma McGowan.

Tom was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force who served during the Korean War. Tom loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed watching old Western movies and Jerry Springer.

Surviving is his three sons, Tom McGowan, Timothy McGowan (partner, Debra Bailey) of Mt. Holly Springs, Todd (Danita) McGowan of Drystown; stepson, David (Wendy) Garrety of Harvey’s Lake; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and brother, Jim McGowan of West Virginia. Tom was preceded in death by his first wife of 30 years, Linda (Fisher) McGowan, his second wife of 25 years, MaryJo (Garrety) McGowan; his son, Tedd McGowan; and a stepdaughter, Frances Garrety.

A graveside service will be held at a later date in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Speranza Animal Rescue, 1216 Brandt Rd, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs.
