Thomas R. Mackey

Thomas R. Mackey, 67, of Carlisle, PA, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023, in the UPMC Carlisle Hospital. He was born May 5, 1956, in Carlisle to the late Thomas R. and Grace (Wagner) Mackey.

Tom was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.  He was a truck driver, carpenter (roofer), tinkerer, and always loved working with his hands. Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors. He was quick witted, loved a good joke and always had a smile on his face.

Surviving is his wife of 45 years, Jo Mackey of Carlisle; son, Thomas B. Mackey; daughter, Carol Jo Mackey; grandsons, Eli and Jacob Mackey; sisters, JoAnne Cooper (Rick), Kate Mackey, Diana Zeigler (Mike) and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents.

His favorite quote “No job too big no job too small either do it right or don’t do it at all”. He was the type of man who would give you the shirt off his back but would make you wear it the way he wanted you to.
