It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Terry Dean Burkholder, aged 89, a beloved husband and father. He departed this world peacefully on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Harmony at West Shore.
Terry was born on July 28, 1934, near Bellwood, Pa. to Bess and Perry Burkholder. He lived a life rich in love, accomplishments, and cherished moments.
Terry is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Rosella Rossbach, and his four sisters; Alverta Hollen, Lorraine Ebert, Thelma Hostler, and Mary Anderson.
Terry, a loving father, and mentor is survived by six children: Theresa Burkholder of Bradenton, Fl.; Rosella Lynn Burkholder (Alphonsus Romejko) of Harrisburg; Marcella (Edward) Hofler of Carlisle; Julie (Blaine) Deyle of Mount Joy; Daniel (Jennifer) Burkholder of Harrisburg; and Matthew Burkholder of Harrisburg. 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Terry was a visionary and accomplished businessman. He was president of Dauphin Electrical Supply in Harrisburg until he retired in 2001. His entrepreneurial spirit and leadership left an indelible mark on the business community.
Terry was also a military veteran by proudly serving in the United States Marine Corp.
Beyond his professional achievements, Terry was a natural athlete. He played basketball in his youth, loved to sail, and had a great love for golf. Terry played on a variety of courses and enjoyed countless rounds with friends. Terry’s camaraderie with fellow golf enthusiasts created lasting memories and added to the richness of his life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 22, 2024, at 11:00 AM in Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Dr., Carlisle, PA 17015 with Rev. Chiedozie F. Ononuju as celebrant. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the service, and burial will be in Saint Patrick Catholic Church Cemetery, Carlisle. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church, Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 152 E.
