Sylvia Zimmerman

Sylvia B. Zimmerman, 79, formerly of Carlisle, passed away at the home of her daughter on Friday, July 19, 2013. She was born in Carlisle on March 11, 1934 to the late George and Barbara Elizabeth Bridge Beidel and was predeceased by her husband Russell Zimmerman. Sylvia previously worked as a physical therapist at Cumberland Crossings, Carlisle and was an avid gardener.

She is survived by two sons, Dennis Rickrode (Dagmar) of Mt. Holly Springs, PA and Jay Neyhart (Jill) of Little Rock, AR and two daughters,  Theresa Sensi of Fannettsburg, PA and Ann Luckman (Matthew) of Mechanicsburg, PA. In addition, Sylvia is survived by four step-sons, Michael Zimmerman, James Zimmerman (Barbara), Thomas Zimmerman (Wendy), all of Hanover, PA and Daniel Zimmerman (Lori) of Lititz, PA  and three step-daughters, Cynthia Coppersmith (Richard),Marcia Funt, (Kevin Plunkert), Andrea Green (Scott), all of Hanover, PA. Also, surviving are three brothers, William Beidel (Bert) of Greason, PA, David Beidel of Austin, TX and James (Diane) Beidel of Newville, PA; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sixteen step-grandchildren; and 8 step great grandchildren. Sylvia was predeceased by a son, John Keller; a sister, Nancy Reck; two brothers, Richard and Donald Beidel; a step daughter-in-law, Joyce Zimmerman and a step grandchild.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, 17065 with the Rev. Richard Reese officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hershey Medical Center for Cancer Research, 500 University Dr., Hershey, PA 17033.
