Stephen Hair

Stephen A. "Pap" Hair, 75, of Carlisle, PA passed away on Tuesday, February, 11, 2020 at UPMC Carlisle surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born to the late Lester and Ruth (Goodling) Hair on December 23, 1944 in Mechanicsburg, PA.

Steve worked as a farmer, truck driver, and a bus driver. He absolutely loved camping in his RV at Gettysburg Farms in Dover, PA where he enjoyed sitting around the campfire or playing a good, long game of 9-hole with his camping family. This is also where Steve showed off his most prized possession, a 1958 tractor, in the annual tractor show and parade. He  was a life member of the Penn Township VFD where he served as a driver/operator/engineer and the Cumberland County Volunteer Firefighter Association.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Frances (Lindsay) Hair; children, James Hair, Brian Hair and wife Nicki and Brenda Hair and husband Chris Kolodzi; 7 grandchildren, Amber and husband Kyle, CJ and wife Brooke, Cordell and wife Becca, Anthony and wife Destiny, Cody, Dyllan and Falon; 2 step-grandchildren, Amy and Luke; 5 great-granddaughters, Jaiden, Macie, Sutten, Mila and Addison and 5 step-grandchildren, Dayton, Ethan, Chance, Lilianna and Paisley. Also surviving are sisters, Marge Shannon and husband Butch and Martha Kugle and husband Joe and brother-in-law, Glen Wolford. He was predeceased by his sister, Carolyn Wolford.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, February 16, 2020 at 4:00 PM in the Penn Township Volunteer Fire Department, 1750 Pine Rd., Newville, PA 17241. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Penn Township Volunteer Fire Department. Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt.
