Ronald Moyer

Ronald Moyer, 64, previously from the island of Maui, HI, passed away at his home in Dillsburg, PA on June 13, 2015. He was born July 7, 1950 in Tucson, AZ       to Gertrude Baden Moyer of Kingman, AZ and the late Joseph B. Moyer.

Ronald was a graduate of Moreno Valley HS in CA and was a state wrestling champion for his school. He earned a BS degree from the University of Portland               and graduated from Oregon State University Veterinary School in 1986.  Owner of  Upcountry Veterinary Services in Makawao, HI, he donated his time and talents to the Gorilla Foundation and the East Maui Animal Refuge, where he also served on the board. Ronald was one of four nominated for Volunteer of the Year for the County of Maui, Hawaii for his service and devotion. An avid Sci-Fi lover, he collected Star Trek memorabilia and also had a passion for Mickey Mouse items. Ronald was an Army Vietnam veteran.

He is survived by his mother, Gertrude Baden Moyer of Kingman, AZ; a daughter, Aubrie Dirks-Moyer and Jeff Bridgman of Dillsburg, PA; his siblings, Tina Cude (Charlie) of Kingman, AZ, Carol Walker (Bill) of Myerstown, PA, Peggy Kile (Steve) and Joseph “Seppie” Moyer, both of Jonestown, PA; three grandchildren, Noel, Teddy and Indi; and his ex-wife, Barbara Jeanne Dirks, of Virginia City, Mt.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the East Maui Animal Refuge, 25 Maluaina Place, Haiku, HI 96708.
