Romaine G. Weidner

Romaine G. Weidner, 100, of Carlisle, PA, passed away on January 2, 2024, in her residence. She was born November 21, 1923, in Huntington Township to the late Christian F. and Clara H. (Kinter) Griest and was the widow of Elzin Eugene Weidner who passed away in 2010.

Romaine worked seasonally at several local apple factories, and spent her life alongside her husband, Eugene, operating their small farm. She enjoyed gardening and was an amazing cook.

Surviving are her children, David Allen Weidner of Tennessee, and Kimberly Jo Tischer of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Jared and Derek Swarner and Jason and Jeffery Weidner; siblings, Lester Griest and Joan Bream. In addition to her parents and husband, Romaine was preceded in death by her siblings, Evelyn Eichelberger, Velma Pentz, Hilda Miller, Dorothy Bream, Herbert, Melvin, Amos, Janet, and Caroline Griest, Violet Brandt, and Nellie Lerue.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 4200 Carlisle Road, Gardners, PA 17324 with Pastor Eric Snyder officiating.  A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services and burial will be held in Goodyear Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion Lutheran Church or Sarah A Todd Memorial Home, 1000 W South Street, Carlisle, PA 17013.
