Robert E. Woodward, 77, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2014 in the Holy Spirit Hospital. He was born June 27, 1937 in Camp Hill, PA to the late Hughlett Snyder and Mildred May Nonemaker Woodward.
Retired with 40 years of service from AMP Incorporated, Bob was a senior die development engineer. He was a member of the Yellow Breeches Anglers & Conservation Assoc., the Mechanicsburg Club and a lifetime member of the NRA.
Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn F. Nutter Woodward; a son, Jeffrey A. (Deidra) Woodward of Dillsburg; a daughter; Eileen “Ande” Y. Skelly of Dillsburg and companion Ken; three grandchildren, Michelle Singer (Ted), Danielle Harriman (Steve), Andrea Jackson (Dane); and seven great-grandchildren, Stephen, Kristen, Jared, Lauren, Brandon, Grady and Brinley. Also surviving are two sisters, Doris Long of Carlisle and Alta Sheaffer of Mechanicsburg. Robert was predeceased by two brothers, Vance and Lee Woodward and his son-in-law, Michael E. Skelly.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Andersontown Church of God, 217 Andersontown Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 with Pastor Terry Frederick officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Yellow Breeches Anglers & Conservation Association, PO Box 1, Boiling Springs, PA 17007 or Uplifting Athletes, 112 Market St., Suite 301, Harrisburg, PA 17101.
