Robert Smith

Robert L. Smith, 82, of Gardners, PA, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in his home. He was born October 24, 1933 in Carlisle, PA to the late Harper & Sylvia Coulson Smith. Robert retired from Ahlstrom Filtration, former Eaton-Dikeman, with 38 years of service and was a member of the Mt. Victory United Methodist Church. Enjoying the outdoors, Bob spent time walking in the mountains, mowing his grass, keeping the yard tidy and clean and playing outside with the great grandchildren.  He especially loved spending time with his family.

Robert is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janet M. Starner Smith; his daughter, Peggy M. (Keith) Shaub of Shippensburg; and two sons, Harper L. (Sandra) Smith and Harry E. (Cynthia) Smith, both of Gardners. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Mathew C. Smith, Christopher E. Smith, Adrienne Smith, Melissa Smith and Benjamin Garman; great grandchildren: Andrew, Taylor, Bowen, Beckett, Corbin and Dexton Smith; and his sister, Erma (Louis) Elicker of Dillsburg. He was predeceased by 14 brothers and sisters.
