Robert Noss

Robert E. Noss, 80, formerly of Mt. Holly Springs, PA passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015 in the Cumberland County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born September 13, 1934 in Spruce Hill, PA to the late Benjamin and Hazel Bitner Noss.

Robert served in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from Ralston Purina in Mechanicsburg and then continued to work, as a truck driver. Robert was a life member of VFW #7530 in Lower Allen Twp. and the American Legion # 674 in Mt. Holly Springs.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruthann Palm Noss of Mt. Holly Springs; 2 daughters, Donna D. (David) Taylor of Bendersville and Melody A. (Buzz) Singer of Shippensburg; a sister, Patricia A. Sassaman of Port Royal; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Robert was predeceased by three children, Gary Eugene Noss who passed on June 15, 2006, David Allen Noss who passed on February 26, 1978 and Brenda Suzette Long who passed on December 3, 2007.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with Rev. James Hawk officiating. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Mechanicsburg Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Cumberland County Honor Guard.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
