Robert Franklin Conklin, AKA  "Whitey"  (The Beach Bum), 87, of Camp Hill, PA passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016 in the Lebanon Valley VA Hospital. He was born July 3, 1928 in Highspire, PA to the late Benjamin Franklin and Romaine Martz Conklin.

Robert retired from Morgan Millwork and served in the US Army during WW II. Robert was a member of the American Legion #109 in Mechanicsburg, the Mechanicsburg Club, and the YMCA in Camp Hill. An avid Mechanicsburg baseball fan, he also enjoyed relaxing at the beach. Robert dearly loved his dog Daisy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Harriet "Amber" Abramowitz Conklin of Camp Hill; two daughters, Deborah Patton and husband Keith of Dillsburg and Kim Wertz and husband Rory of Dover. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Tracie Burkepile and husband George, Kelly Patton, and Jason Strahosky and wife Amanda; and seven great grandchildren: Kyle, Dustin, Brooke, Bryson, Landon, Jaci and Raedyn. Robert was predeceased by a daughter, Darlene Strahosky; a grandchild, Cory Strahosky; and his brother, Herb Conklin.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
