Richard D. Traxler, 69, of Mt. Holly Springs, PA, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 in his home. He was born September 22, 1947 in Doylesburg, PA to the late Ernest Gerald and Clara Guyer Traxler. Retired from Knouse Foods with 34 years of service, Richard worked as an equipment operator. He loved old western movies and John Wayne. Buying, selling and fixing cars was a passionate hobby. Richard also enjoyed yard work, camping and going to the flea markets.
He is survived by his wife, Judith A. Traxler and sons , Steve Traxler and companion Jodie Rhinehart and Brandon (Teresa) Traxler, both of Carlisle. Also surviving are four step children: Daniel Schmohl of Boiling Springs, Philip (Stepheny) Schmohl of Mt. Holly Springs, William Swisher of Gardners and Penny (Virgil) Richards of Gettysburg. In addition, he is survived b his grandchildren; Shelby and Ashley Traxler; great grandchildren, Lacy Briggs and Hayden Warren; and his nephew, Roy Traxler Jr. of Mt. Holly Springs. He was predeceased by his brother, Roy Traxler Sr.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens with Rev. William Mummert officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 897, Hershey, PA 17033 or to the American Heart Assoc., 1019 Mumma Rd., Wormleysburg, PA 17043.
