Richard Scott

Richard J. Scott, 83, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 in the Cumberland County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born July 26, 1931 in Gettysburg to the late Jesse and Grace March Scott. During his working career, Richard was employed by several construction and oil companies. Fixing and selling bicycles was his pastime for forty years.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Fay Sheaffer Scott; his daughter, Debra Peebles of Mechanicsburg and two sons, John (Janice) Scott of Carlisle and Michael Scott at home. Also surviving are two grandsons, Brian and Sean Peebles; a great grandson, Carson Wettrich; a step grandson, Jason Barnhart; a step great grandson, Joshua Barnhart; two sisters, Martha Scott Black & Dorothy Scott Rice, both of Gettysburg; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers: Paul, Charles, and Daniel.
