Randall Edward Rickrode Jr., having been blessed with ocean blue eyes, a charming smile and more wit than wisdom, had a true gift for making beautiful women fall in love with him.
Born on June 27th of 1984 in Newport News, Virginia to Randall E. Rickrode Sr. and Susan C. Rickrode (Barrick), he took the first steps of his journey wandering around their home on the shore of the Chesapeake with his elder sisters, Jenny and Jessy.
Before beginning school, his father moved the family back home to south central Pennsylvania. There, Randall spent the fleeting years of boyhood tormenting his sisters, adventuring with friends, building forts, wrestling, riding go carts and dirt bikes and playing video games. He liked fishing with his dad and riding roller coasters with his mom.
Adulthood brought romances that swept him away to destinations and habitations from Jamaica to New York City and from California to Italy. In his lifetime he enjoyed some exquisite meals in world class restaurants, celebrated under city lights and logged miles upon miles of sand and surf.
Randy, or Rick, as he was known by his friends, held various occupations during his life. He worked as a roofer in Pennsylvania, cleaned windows on sky-rises and worked as an electrical engineering assistant in New York, and sold cars in Daytona.
Paddleboarding was his most beloved past-time. He shared that love with many beloved friends, ever drawn to the sand and surf. At the time of his death he lived in New Smyrna Beach, Florida where he could step out of his home and paddle to some of his favorite places.
Unfortunately, in the footsteps of his father, he lost his struggle with depression and an unhealthy relationship with alcohol, taking his own life at his home on the morning of September 24th, 2020.
Randall was predeceased by his aforementioned father, Randall Edward Rickrode Sr., stepfather Douglas E. Barrick, paternal grandfather, Melvin E. Rickrode, maternal grandmother, Mary Ann McCullough and step-grandfather, Ed Oliveira.
Surviving this tragic loss are his daughter, Faith Marie Rickrode, aforementioned mother, Susan C. McCullough Barrick, paternal grandmother, Peggy Maurice Oliveira, maternal grandfather, Dale E. McCullough, sisters, Jennifer (Brad) Wiley and Jessica (Daniel) Peslis, numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews that adored him, as well as several very special friends.
