Ralph Miller

Ralph W. Miller, 80, and formerly of Mechanicsburg and Messiah Village, Upper Allen Twp., passed away Wednesday, February 20 in the Holy Spirit Hospital. He was born December 3, 1932 in Quantico, VA to the late Frank B. and Mary V. Gay Miller.
Retiring as a secondary school teacher with 32 years of service, Ralph taught at Redland and Cedar Cliff High Schools for the West Shore School District. He graduated from Shippensburg University, received his educator accreditation from Penn State University and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Ralph was a member of the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, VFW Post # 6704, Mechanicsburg Club, Eureka Lodge # 302 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory and the Zembo Temple. He volunteered with Mechanicsburg Meals on Wheels, Mechanicsburg Museum Association and the Keystonians.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Mock Miller; his son, Barton W. (Jean) Miller, of Mechanicsburg; four grandchildren and; 3 step grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Frank B. Miller Jr.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, on the Williams Grove Rd., Mechanicsburg, with Rev. John J. Ward-Diorio, his pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the church columbarium. A visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church at 626 Williams Grove Rd., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 or to the Endowment Fund at Messiah Lifeways, 100 Mt. Allen Dr., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
