Peggy J. Shenberger

Peggy J. Shenberger, 91, of Carlisle, PA, passed away on April 16, 2025, in the Chapel Pointe at Carlisle. She was born September 28, 1933, in Meadowview, VA, to the late James Johnson and Pollie C. (Wagner) Himes, and Paul E. Himes and was the widow of Ivan E. Shenberger who passed away in January of 2004.

Peggy worked in food service for the Mechanicsburg School District. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg.

Surviving are her siblings, Doris Junkins (Fred) of Mechanicsburg, Howard Himes (Martha) of Harrisburg, Harold Himes (Linda) of Mechanicsburg; niece and nephews, Angela Vidic (Dan), Carrie Singer, Elaine Davis, Madalyn Drew, Scott Junkins (Elyse), and Steven Himes; and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Peggy was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Hamm and Margaret Himes.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel Pointe, 770 South Hanover Street, Carlisle, PA 17013 with pastor Steve Motter officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be held privately in the Dillsburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, take this time to kindly remember elderly family members and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs.
