Pearl Elizabeth Shields

October 3, 1931 — February 23, 2025

Pearl Elizabeth Shields, 93, of Carlisle, PA, passed away on February 23, 2025, in the Forest Park Nursing Home. She was born on October 3, 1931, in Newville, to the late Benjamin Franklin and Naomi Grace (Tarner) Shields. 

Pearl retired from Knouse Foods after 26 years of service. She also worked for Sylvania Shoes in Mt. Holly Springs, bartender at the Carlisle Moose, and on the maintenance team at Wellington Hotel in Carlisle.

Surviving is her children, Jimmie Shields (Brenda) of Carlisle, Donald Shields (Sharon) of Carlisle, David Benjamin Shields (Veronica) of Carlisle, Robert Shields (LouAnn) of Carlisle, and Sharon Shields of Carlisle; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and three step grandchildren; and sister, Mazie Bear of Carlisle. In addition to her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her nine brothers and sisters.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Bethel Assembly of God Church, 1412 Holly Pike, Carlisle, PA 17015, with Pastor Charles Kish and Pastor Dustin Kipe officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
