Pearl Highlands

d. August 29, 2014

Pearl J. Highlands, 78, of York Springs, passed away in her sleep on Friday, August 29, 2014 with her husband by her side after a nine year struggle with cancer.  She was born September 27, 1935 in Huntingdon County to the late Thaddeus and Myrtle Foore Walker.

Pearl was retired from PPG, loved to travel with her husband in their RV and baked delicious homemade sticky buns for the masses. She was often seen at sporting events for her children and grandchildren and you always knew she was there by the volume of the cheers.

Highlands of York Springs; Ronald E. Highlands of East Berlin; Kimberly A. Gilreath of Carlisle; Jacqueline M. Roth of Biglerville; and Michael J. Highlands of Westminster, MD. In addition, Pearl is survived by two brothers, John Walker of Newville and Raymond Walker of Chambersburg; two sisters, Sue Lemin and Nancy of Three Springs; 14 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

Pearl was predeceased by three siblings, Teddy, William and Betty.  A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065.
