Chief Warrant Officer Patrick James McGlynn, Jr. formerly of Stephen MN, passed away on
March 21, 2018 at his home in Carlisle, PA. Patrick was born in Stephen, MN on March 11 th , 1934 and
resided in Stephen until age eighteen when he entered the U. S. Army.
He retired from the militaryin 1973 at Carlisle Barracks, PA after more than twenty years of service.
Thereafter, he was employed by the PA Department of Public Welfare for more than18 years and again
retired in 1990.
Pat spent three years in South Korea on two different tours in the 1950’s. During the second tour in Korea he married his wife of sixty years, Hwi Kui (Katie) McGlynn.
He is survived by his wife, Katie, five children, MaryAnn McGlynn-Brehm (Mark), Catherine McGlynn, Elizabeth McGlynn-Sheely (Scott), Carolyn McGlynn-Voller (Patrick), Patrick J. McGlynn, III (Robyn), fourteen Grandchildren, and eleven Great Grandchildren.He is also survived by his brother, Richard (Chipper) McGlynn of Osseo, MN, and sister, Doris Morberg of Duluth, MN.
Pat was the son of Patrick J. McGlynn and Thora Laudal-McGlynn. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Janet Anderson, his brother Clayton (Topper) McGlynn,his brother Morris, a Daughter Patricia Susan McGlynn, and a Granddaughter Elise Taylor.
Private Services will be held at the U.S. Army War College Memorial Chapel with private burial at the Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs, PA.
