Michele Winifred Farner, age 44 and a resident of Royse City, TX for 18 years, passed away May 25, 2015 at her home. She was born September 7, 1970, in Carlisle to the late Janet (Boyer) Farner and her father Charles (Ed) Farner Jr. of Carlisle. Michele was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Rockwall, TX, where she was very involved in the St. Vincent de Paul Society, served as past president and was a Eucharistic Minister. She was an active member of the Young Serrans of Dallas, “A Dance to Remember” in Rockwell, and played the baritone in the Rockwell Community Band. Michele graduated in 1989 from Boiling Springs High School and graduated in 1993 from Mansfield University, PA. She then joined the Peace Corps and served two years in Costa Rica. Michele enjoyed her work as a bilingual prekindergarten teacher for both the Rockwall and Royse City, TX school districts.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her sister, Louise A. (David) Prince; nieces and nephews: Anna, Daniel, Patrick, Regina, and Olivia Prince and Andrew, Luke, Kayley and McKenna Farner. She was preceded in death by her mother, Janet L. Farner; a brother, Charles E. Farner III; and grandparents: Regina Farner, Charles E. Farner, Sr., Henry Boyer and Winifred Boyer.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 5, 2015 at the St. Patrick Shrine Church, 152 East Pomfret St., Carlisle, PA 17013 with the Very Reverend William C. Forrey, VF, as celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Patrick Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 6 to 8 PM with a Rosary beginning at 7:30 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave, Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065.
