Michael Retus

Michael Retus, 86 of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 in the Holy Spirit Hospital. He was born May 4, 1928 in Mather, PA. Mike was a former school teacher in Canonsburg , PA and retired from the Commonwealth of PA as a computer analyst. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, former board member and life member of the Mechanicsburg Club, belonged to the American Legion # 109, VFW # 477, Carlisle Moose # 761, Eagles # 1299, White Circle club and was a member of the Range End Golf Course. Michael served in the US Army during Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Delphine M. Zilka Retus, having been married for 63 years; his granddaughter, Lori (Mark) Fish of Mechanicsburg. Michael was predeceased by his son, Gregory M. Retus.

A viewing will be held in the Malpezzi Funeral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg, on Tues., November 4, 2014 from 7 to 8 PM.  Private services will be held in the Rolling Green Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc., 1019 Mumma Rd., Wormleysburg, PA 17043 or to the American Cancer Society, 2 Lemoyne Dr., Ste. 101, Lemoyne, PA 17043.
