Mary Shank

Mary Catherine Shank, 88, of East Berlin, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the home of her caregivers, Paul and Ruth Weaver, of Boiling Springs, PA where she had resided since December 2015. She was born February 7, 1928 in Chester Twp., Wayne County, Ohio to the late William and Amelia Horst Gable and was united in marriage on October 11, 1951 to the late Mark Heatwole Shank, who passed away on April 6, 2007. Mary was a member of the Churchtown Mennonite Church.

She is survived by her son, Ivan Shank of East Berlin, PA and daughters, Elsie Mellinger of Myerstown PA and Rhoda Sauder of Bridgewater, VA. Also surviving is her brother, Chester Gable of Wooster, OH; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Sunday, July 3, 2016 at the Churchtown Mennonite Church, 1341 Church St., Carlisle, PA (near the intersection of Rt. 74 and 174) from 2:00 until 4:00 PM and from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.  Funeral services, at the Churchtown Mennonite Church, will be held Monday, July 4 at 10:00 AM with the ministry of the church, officiating.  Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home, Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065.
