Marlin E. March, 81 of Carlisle, passed away Monday, May 4, 2015 in the West Shore Hospital. He was born to the late William E. and Helen Fenicle March, on January 9, 1934 in Carlisle. Marlin retired from Lear Corp., formally C.H. Masland & Sons with 44 years’ service. He worked for the A&P Store, Carlisle. He was a member of the Barnitz United Methodist Church, AARP, NRA, and the Pine Road Hunting Camp, New Germantown. He was a former Boy Scout Leader. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Marlin loved his hunting and fishing trips to Montana with his friends and visiting with his extended family. He was the former co-owner of March’s Gun Shop and he was a great gunsmith.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Irene M. Flickinger March; his three sons, William E. (Ruth A.) March, Daniel E. March and stepson, Jamie J. (Kandi) Goodhart, all of Carlisle; seven grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Beverly (James) Stine of East Berlin and Audrey (Mervin) Shughart of Carlisle; sister-in-law, Dorothy A. Cooper of Carlisle and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Craig.
Memorial services will be held Friday, May 22, 2015 at 10:45 AM in the Barnitz United Methodist Church, 23 Church Lane, Carlisle, with Rev. Matthew Plant officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Friday. A luncheon will follow the services in the church social hall.
