Marlin E. Lindsay of Carlisle passed away February 1, 2013 at the Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle. He was born May 15, 1935 in Mechanicsburg to the late Harold and Ruth Ritter Lindsay. Marlin graduated from Mechanicsburg High School, Class of 1953. He was a farmer and worked at the Carlisle & Silver Spring Livestock Auctions. Marlin also worked for PPG and retired as a rural mail carrier in Mechanicsburg. He enjoyed listening to country, bluegrass and gospel music and attended Bethel Assembly of God. He also enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, cheering on the Phillies and loved walking his dog, Kirby.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Diane E. (Wright) Lindsay; his son, Wayne E. (Sabrina) Lindsay of Mechanicsburg; and two special grandsons, Trevor Jacob Lindsay and Connor Joseph Lindsay, both of Mechanicsburg. Marlin is also survived by five sisters: Romaine (Don) Lauer of Dillsburg, Thelma (Charles) Miller of Carlisle, Frances (Stephen) Hair of Carlisle, Lois Lindsay of Harrisburg, Wilma (Barry) Garman of Carlisle, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amanda Faith Lindsay; his sister, Janet Hair and other siblings, Shirley, Janice, Jean, James and John.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, February 5 at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs with Rev. Chuck G. Kish and Elder D. Fred Miller officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM in the funeral home.
