Marion Conroy

Marion Conroy, 99, of Carlisle, PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home in Carlisle. She was born June 6, 1915 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Lorenzo Fraiese and Antonia DeStefano. When her mother died at a young age, her father returned to his homeland in Trentinara, Italy and married his second love, Francesca who raised his four children. She was the widow of Thomas Conroy from Staten Island, New York who passed away on December 12, 1981.

After raising her two daughters while working, she retired and enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren and then great grandchildren. Marion was thrilled when she became a great, great grandmother. She loved cooking and having the family spend holidays together, especially New Years Day. She later loved taking bus trips especially to Atlantic City, NJ.

Marion is survived by two daughters; Marie Makawicz of Greenville, SC. and Frances Herdman of Carlisle, PA. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

A Memorial Mass will be held on May 30, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the St. Patrick Shrine Church, 152 E. Pomfret St., Carlisle, PA 17013 with the Reverend Brian Wayne officiant. Interment will be in the Moravian Cemetery, Staten Island, NY 10306 on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Mt.
