Lorriane Salisbury

Lorraine Elizabeth Salisbury, 73, of Carlisle, PA, passed away peacefully, Tuesday morning, June 29, 2021, in the presence of her family after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born November 12, 1947, in Grantham, England to the late Phillip P. Ealey and Alice Mae (Rodgers) Ealey.

Lorraine worked in all aspects of automobile sales her entire career, beginning with her father’s business, Warrington Motors, Rossville, PA. Lorraine was one of the first female auto salespersons in Central Pennsylvania and was well respected because of her vast knowledge and expertise in the field.

She is survived by her loving husband, Edgar Salisbury of Carlisle; children, Deborah Bolger of New Cumberland, Joseph McCoy of Lewisberry, David McCoy of Dillsburg, Rebecca Glessner of Camp Hill, James Salisbury of Gardners and Eddie Salisbury of Enola. Additionally, Lorraine is survived by three brothers, 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Lorraine enjoyed painting, drawing, reading, antiquing, gardening and motorcycling. She loved traveling to the beach with friends, trips to the Finger Lakes and spending time with family. Lorraine was an active volunteer with Birthright in both York and Carlisle and was a member of the Carlisle Garden Club. She will be remembered for her wit, compassionate heart, independence, artistic and creative abilities, love of music and dancing and her fierce love for her family. Lorraine always had a hopeful and positive attitude with a strong faith in God, even in the face of adversity. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in Lorraine’s name to the Carlisle Garden Club, 13 N. Letort Dr., Carlisle, PA 17013.
