Lester March

Lester R. March, 93, formerly of Mt. Holly Springs, PA, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016 in the Cumberland County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Lester was born July 10, 1922 in Carlisle to the late William and Anna March. He was the widower of Mae P. March who passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012.

Lester was employed by the family business, Mt. Holly Builders and retired from the Pepsi Cola Industries in Newville. He was a member of the Carlisle Church of Christ and an Army Veteran of WWII receiving the Purple Heart.

He is survived by his daughter, Pamela S. (Vincent) Brenneman of Mt. Holly Springs; two sons, Dennis R. (Donna) March of Carlisle and Timothy L. (Doris) March of Long Island, NY; six grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren. Also, surviving is his brother, Lee March of Mt. Holly Springs and four sisters, Patricia Barto of Carlisle, Shirley Gantt of NC, Dorothy Ehling of Mt. Holly Springs and Jeanie (Don) Blocher of Gardners. He was predeceased by his son, John March (1950); grandson, Stephen March (2002); three brothers; and a sister.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with Dr. Todd Brenneman, his grandson, officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery with military honors provided by the Cumberland County Honor Guard.  There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
