Leona Carolus

Leona E. Carolus, 86, of Green Ridge Village, Newville, PA passed away on December 31, 2016. Born December 1, 1930, she was the daughter of the late James M. and Elizabeth Stroup Stewart and was the widow of Charles S. Carolus Sr. who passed away July 7, 1991.

Family was of utmost importance to Leona; love of family was very precious to her and she cherished family gathering and visits. She also belonged to the Millerstown Moose and was an avid Bingo player.

Leona is survived by her children, Brenda Derr (Michael) of Boiling Springs, PA, Jacklin Wertz of Tyrone, PA, Charles S. Carolus Jr. (Elizabeth) of Loysville, PA, D. Jeanne DiPierro of Daytona Beach, FL and Joseph G. Carolus (Betsy) of York, PA. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and her sister, Doris Reese of Tyrone, PA. She was predeceased by her brothers, James and Edward Stewart and her son-in-law, Gary D. Wertz.

A Service of Interment will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 in the St. Luke's Episcopal Church Prayer Garden, 8 E. Keller St., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. with Rev.
