Leland Searfoss

Leland A. Searfoss, 91, of Newville, PA, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2019 in the UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle. He was born March 1, 1928 in Towanda, PA to the late Elmer and Katherine Irma (Brown) Searfoss.

Leland was a lifelong truck driver, ending his career with ABF Freight and was of the Episcopal Faith. He loved to go hunting, like to work with his hands and was a good handyman.

Surviving is his loving wife of 73 years, Betty E. (Cox) Searfoss of Newville; children, Keith Searfoss and Dawn Shaffer, both of Newville, Gloria Brennan of Lawrenceville, Kenneth Searfoss of Dillsburg, David Searfoss of Greencastle and Kevin Searfoss of Chambersburg. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Leland is preceded in death by a son, Guy Searfoss and siblings, Larry Searfoss and Alice Huntsinger

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 12:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with Rev. Keith Searfoss officiating. A viewing will be held at 10:00 AM until the service and burial will be in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg. Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
