Lawrence Barninger

Lawrence I. Barninger, 81, of Carlisle, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born October 30, 1934 in Marysville, PA to the late Charles and Mary Kaufman Barninger.

Lawrence worked for the former Calabrese & Sons, Mechanicsburg in shipping. An avid fisherman, he especially loved fishing for bass on the Susquehanna River.  Lawrence served his country in the US Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Dunkle Barninger of Carlisle; son, Michael Barninger of FL; two stepsons, Richard (Lisa) Riggleman of Gardners and Thomas (Brenda) Riggleman of Carlisle; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grand children. Lawrence was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Kerns who passed away in 2012; and two stepsons, Kenneth Riggleman who passed away in 2010 and Duane Riggleman who passed away in 2004.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday January 31, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065. Interment will be in the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery with military honors provided by the Cumberland County Honor Guard.
