LaVita Nickel

LaVita E. Nickel, 84, formally of Carlisle passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at the Cumberland County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born December 15, 1929 in Portland, OR to the late Lloyd and Zillah Oaks Massey.

LaVita graduated from high school and worked locally in manufacturing plants. She was married for 50 years to William N. Nickel who passed away in 2006.

She is survived by her son, William N. Nickel II; five grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Eloise McManigal of Colorado and Lloydena Aguilar of California. LaVita was predeceased by her daughter, LaNita Eichelberger and her sister, Virginia M. Borner.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 10:00AM in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Richard L. Reese officiating.
