Laverne Tuckey

Laverne B. Tuckey, 86, formerly of Gardners passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the Church of God Home in Carlisle. He was born October, 5, 1928 in Mellan Twp., Adams County to the late Charles C. and Retta M. Sowers Tuckey. Laverne was the widower of Dorothy E. Hoff Tuckey who passed away in  November, 2006.

Laverne retired from Coyle Lumber Company. He was a member of Bendersville United Methodist Church and a long time member of the Bonnybrook Riding Club. Laverne enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by three sons, Bradley D. (Vicki) Tuckey of Loysville, Wade J. (Paula) Tuckey of Gardners, and Jeffrey A. (Teresa) Tuckey of York Springs; 7 grand children and 7 great grandchildren and; a sister, Viola Taylor of Aspers. Laverne was predeceased by a son, Brock L. Tuckey; brothers, Cameron, Donald, Bruce and Shirell Tuckey and a sister, Evelyn Tate.

Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Mt. Victory Cemetery, Gardners with Rev. Bradley V. Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Four Diamonds, Penn State Hershey Childrens Hospital, PO Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033.
