Larry R. Luther, 71, of Dillsburg, PA, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016 at his home. He was born January 3, 1945, in Mechanicsburg, PA to the late Lawrence Love Cliatt and Miriam Shuler Luther. Larry retired from the United Telephone Company and the Naval Supply Depot, and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Churchtown Church of God and the American Legion Post 26. Hunting, fishing and playing billiards were his favorite pastimes and Larry loved spending time with his grandchildren. A good cook, he enjoyed creating in the kitchen and won a chili cook-off championship.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Beverly J. Bohn Luther and three daughters, Stacy A. (Tom) Miller of York Springs, Stephanie A. (Bruce) Richard of Dillsburg and Sherri A. (Vince) Toland of Dillsburg. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Cody, Austin, Hunter, Kolton, Derekk and Brody; 6 step grandchildren, Morgan, Jake, Hailey, Sarah, Brinley and Landon; 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with Rev. Brian Warner officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
