Larry Griffie

Larry L. Griffie,  67, of Elliottsburg, PA, passed away Friday, August 5, 2016 at the West Shore Hospital. He was born March 25, 1949 in Carlisle, PA to the late George and Gertrude Hockley Griffie. Larry retired from the former Masland/ Lear Corp. and drove a school van for Dums Bus Service in Perry County. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Larry could always put a smile on your face with his sense of humor; he will be greatly missed and loved forever.

He is survived by two sons, Jaryd L. and Larry Jr. of Ickesburg; his long time friend and companion, Martha R. Tuckey.  Also surviving are his siblings: George Griffie Jr., Doris Shoemaker and Judy Paxton, all of Gardners, and Catherine Smith and Janet Clark, both of Carlisle and Mildred Diehl of Plainfield. He was predeceased by his brother, Charles Griffie.

At Larry's request, services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be  in the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery . In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Research, C/O Carlisle Regional Cancer Center, 25 Sprint Dr., Carlisle, PA 17015 .
