Kay Piper

Kay W. Piper, 64 , of Carlisle, PA passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016 in the Harrisburg Hospital. She was born November 6, 1951 in Carlisle, PA to Evelyn Sheriff Barrick and the late Calvin A. Barrick Jr.

Kay graduated from Cumberland Valley High School and studied 2 years at the Thompson Institute. She moved to Norfolk, VA where she worked as a beautician. Kay moved back to PA in 1981 and went to work for Bruce Bayuk Accounting Firm in Harrisburg as an accountant, she then went to work for Giant Corp. in the accounting department. Kay was a member of the Middlesex United Methodist Church. During her husband's time in the US Navy she was very involved with the Naval Command serving as a family support contact. Kay was treasurer of the Raystown Striper Club, she loved going camping and spending time at the cabin at Raystown Lake. Kay dearly loved her grandchildren.

In addition to her Mother she is survived by her husband of 45 years, Larry J. Piper Sr.  of Carlisle; two sons, Larry (Yolanda) Piper Jr. of Enola and Eric (Terry) Piper of Carlisle; 5 grandchildren. Also survivng are three sisters, Judy Waggoner of Bloserville, Vera Egolf and Verna Dagan both of Carlisle; a brother, Randy Barrick of Carlisle. She was predeceased by a brother, Terry Barrick.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Mt. Holly Springs Church of God, 602 Mcland Road, Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with Rev. Richard L. Reese officiating. There will be a visitation from 10:00 AM until the service. Interment will be in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle, PA at 2:30 PM.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to  American Cancer Society, PO Box 897, Hershey, PA 17033 or American Cancer Society, Donation Restricted for Multiple Myeloma Research.
