Joyce Otten

Joyce Marie (Howe) Otten, 88, formerly of Carlisle, PA passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018 in the Green Ridge Village Nursing Home, Newville. She was born in Carlisle on April 12, 1930 to the late Phillip M. and Alfretta (Kegris) Howe.

Joyce retired from Giant Foods, after 32 years of service, where she worked in office administration. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 1299 and Moose Lodge 761.  She loved playing cards, bingo and bowling.

She is survived by her long time companion Ben Rodemaker of Carlisle, her children, Duane D. Otten (Lisa) of Carlisle, Dennis L. Otten (Joseph Catrambone) of New York City, NY and David S. Otten (Sherri Coover) of N. Middleton Twp.; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Carolyn Carns of Carlisle, Beverly Sheaffer of Harrisburg and Gwenda Zakis of New Bloomfield; and son-in-law, David Hickey of Mt. Holly Springs and sister-in-law, Beverly Howe of New Cumberland. Joyce is preceded in death by her children, Candace "Candy" L. Hickey and Darryl P. Otten, grandson, Cody D. Otten, and her brother, Ronald C. Howe.

A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
