Joyce Killing

Joyce E. Killing, 81, of Carlisle, PA passed away November 23, 2020 in the Shippensburg Health Center. She was born July 31, 1939 in Carlisle to the late Raymond and Lula Mae (Fry) Shughart.

Joyce worked for Ross Stores Distribution Center and was a member of Barnitz United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed attending regularly. Other memberships include, Eagles Aerie 1292 and Cumberland Fire Co., Ladies Auxiliary. Joyce liked to go camping, solve puzzles and word searches, attend yard sales and most importantly, spend time with her family.

Surviving are her children, Kim Dixon and Dave Darr (Susan), both of Carlisle and Jeff Darr (Arleta Poper) of Newville; 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Robert, John, Richard and Barry Shughart, Charolette Leach and Yvonne Bradley. Joyce was preceded in death by her son, Terry Lee Darr, granddaughter, Tara Darr and siblings, Paul Edward, Harry, Donald, Marlin and Emma Shughart.

Services will be announced at a later date and burial will be in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065.
