Joyce Ferree

Joyce H. Ferree, 88, formerly of Mt. Holly Springs, PA, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019 in the Chapel Pointe, Carlisle. She was born September 13, 1930 in Adams County to the late Donald and Grace (Lobaugh) Haskell and was the widow of Robert P. Ferree, who passed away September 16, 1998.

Joyce was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School, Class of 1948 and was also a member of the Junior Red Cross through her high school during WWII. She worked as a Nurses Aid for the Thornwald Home and had her own beauty shop, Joyce's Beauty Shop, for 25 years. Joyce was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and was in charge of the children's department of  Sunday School, Salem United Methodist Church. In her spare time, she loved baking, needlework and embroidery and was a Girl Scout leader.

Surviving are her children, Stephanie L. Cornwall of Carlisle, Keith D. (Karen) Ferree of New Cumberland and Terry D. (Kathy) Ferree of Harrisburg; and 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Geraldine Trump, of Carlisle. In addition to her husband, Joyce is preceded in death by her sister, Faye Smith.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with Rev. John A. Ile Jr. officiating. A viewing will be held  one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the benevolent fund of Chapel Pointe, 770 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, PA 17013.
