Joseph Knouse

Joseph Brame Knouse, 76 , of Boiling Springs, PA passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born September 8, 1939 in Carlisle and was the son of the late Mark Hartman and Hope Brame Knouse.

Joe was a 1958 graduate of Carlisle High School. He retired after 38 years of service from the former AMP Inc. (Tyco), Carlisle. Joe served as an armored crewman in the 104th Cavalry, Pennsylvania National Guard from 1960 to 1966. Joe was also a member of St. Johns Lodge #260 F & A. M. for 44 years and served as Worshipful Master in 1979. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. Above all, he was a caring and devoted husband, father, and  grandfather to his family. Joe will be remembered by his family for teaching them the meaning of a hard day's work, the peace that a stroll in the woods provides, and joy of your family.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of 51 years, Su Ann Coulson Knouse of Boiling Spring;  sons, Joseph M. (and wife Elizabeth) Knouse of Boiling Springs and Michael  D.(and wife Amy) Knouse of Newville;  daughter, Debra S. (and husband John) Karinch of Cornwall, PA. Also surviving are  seven grandchildren, Bill, Jamie, John, Abby, Joey Jr.  Emma, and Jacob.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA  17065. A Masonic Service will be held prior to the start of the funeral service. There will be a viewing from 1:00 PM until the time of the service on Thursday. Interment will be held privately in the Centre View Cemetery Biglerville, Adams Co.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to   St. John's Lodge, C/O J.
