John Wilson

John M. “Mike” Wilson, Sr., 71, of Gardners, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Forest Park Health Center & Rehabilitation. He was born March 9, 1942 in Carlisle to the late John Ira & Sarah Catharine Hertzler Wilson and is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Ilaria Wilson.

Mike retired from the Cumberland County Courthouse with 46 years of experience in the maintenance department and also worked at the A&P. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, Alex and Olivia. Being outdoors, gardening, cleaning the pool, completing yard work or spending time with his grandchildren were his favorite pastimes, and of course don’t forget his “front porch sitting.”

With his fun-loving, easy going spirit, Mike touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Tracy M. (Kip) Garman of Gardners; a son, John M. Wilson of Gettysburg;  his sister, Linda Kelly of Camp Hill; and two nephews, Chris (Sharon) Kelly and John (Jean) Kelly, both of Carlisle.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Richard L. Reese officiating at the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065.There will be a viewing from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM. Interment will be in the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery.
