John Boose

John A. “Pappy” or  “JB” Boose, 79, of Latimore Twp., Adams County, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014 in Gettysburg, PA.  He was born March 29, 1935 to the late George W. and Florence Gulden Boose in Miller Twp., Perry County and was the widower of Doris Boose, who passed away August 23, 2004.

John was a 1954 graduate of Blain Union High School, participating in Blain’s FFA and the Drama Club. He was a member of the Center Presbyterian Church in Perry County. John retired from John B. Peters, Inc. fruit farms. He was an honorary member of the Bermudian FFA and loved riding on and fixing his Massy-Harris tractors.

Surviving John are 4 daughters, Cathy S. Bake of Spanaway, WA; Brenda K. Durf of Newville, Tina L. Earnest of Carlisle, Donna L. Boose of Gardners; 7 sons, Michael J., Virgil L., Timothy A., Gerald D., all of Gardners, Richard A. of Lewiston, ME, Terry A. of Carlisle, and John J. of Mt. Holly Springs; a sister, Dorothy J. Trostle of Duncannon; and 2 brothers, Ray O. Boose of Raleigh, NC and Lynn R. Boose of Loysville. He was predeceased by a daughter, Trina L. Neal; 2 sisters, Grace E. Farquhar and Hilda M. Stone; and 2 brothers, Paul W. and Clyde E. Boose.

Services will be held at Mt. Holly Springs Church of God, 602 McLand Rd., Mt. Holly Springs on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at10:00 AM with Rev. Richard Reese officiating. Interment will be in the Westminster Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065.
