James L. Skelly, 80, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Manor Care, Carlisle with his wife by his side. He was born April 27, 1934 in Newton Twp., the son of the late William and Margaret (LeFevre) Skelly.
Jim graduated from Newville High School, class of 1952. He was a member of Mechanicsburg Presbyterian Church, Eureka Lodge No. 302, Royal Arch Chapter No. 209, Zembo Temple Shrine, A.A.C.A., and Hershey and Gettysburg Region of A.A.C.A.
Jim worked for Harrisburg Dairies before going into the petroleum business and was the owner of J. L. Skelly Co., Inc. for 28 &1/2 years.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Millie (Wood) Skelly. One son, D. Wayne Skelly (Tammy) of Thomasville, PA; two granddaughters, Andrea Jackson (Dane) and Emily Skelly; two step grandsons, Brandon and Jonathan; two great grandchildren, Grady and Brinley Jackson; daughter-in-law, Ande Skelly; 5 nieces and 1 nephew. He was predeceased by two sons, Michael and Ed; two brothers, Harold and Conrad; and one sister, Helen Claire.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM in Mechanicsburg Presbyterian Church, 300 E. Simpson St., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 with the Rev. Myrtle McCall and Rev. James Richwine officiating. A visitation will begin at 9:45 AM until 10:45 with a Masonic Service at 10:45. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to his church or the Zembo Children Fund, 2801 N. 3 rd St., Harrisburg, PA 17110.
